ChatON provides a Client API for 3^rd party Android applications through the "ChatONAPI.jar" file that can be downloaded from the ChatON developer site.

To use this API, you must have both installed a 3^rd party application and have the ChatON application on your device. If so, you can send a message to ChatON’s buddies in the 3^rd party application without the authentication process.

Developers of 3^rd party applications can use ChatON’s UI using the Client API. Without registering for an API access key, anyone can use the public Client API.
