First of all thanks for the reply Krysztof, but on october Adam said "devs are working" now, 3 months later, there are no further news seems so like "This fix will never be release" or "we try but there are no solutions". I'm wrong? This content has been quoted from k.bobinski@’s thought. Hi, |

We've seen numerous websites posting information that a developer, in the Samsung forums, has said that "the dev team working on the N7000 is working on this issue". That was back in October, 2012. To any Samsung representative / developer reading this... Could you confirm or infirm this? Something regarding to this is also posted in these forums, HERE. Adam Panasiuk, part of Samsung Developers, said "I can assure you, that the dev team working on the n7000 is working on this issue, and an update is on the way, but I cannot give any official specifics or any dates." ----- Also, one thing I paritcularly find somewhat weird. How come Krzysztof Bobinski, part of Samsung Developers, has not yet received any answer from the development team? :/ All we're asking for is an update. Stand up for once and confirm it to us, for one last time, right in the last hundred yards (as the official update is so close) : is the black clipping fix being progressed on OR NOT. Kind regards, Radu |

Are you ignoring us? if you are working or you have found a solution...i don't see the point of not answer. If you found that it's an HARDWARE ISSUE, i don't see the point again. We will go to a service centre to replace our displays. Samsung sold many note with this issue, we paid with good money and we expect an answer and a fully functionally phone.

The black clipping is a result of both hardware and software malfunctions. For example. You have Gallery on your Note, right? The stock gallery app that comes with the ROM... Now, install Camera JB+. Don't worry it's paid - there are other means you can provide yourslf with it :) . After you install it, you'll also have a Gallery JB+ app in your app drawer. Display the gamma test picture with the stock Gallery app, then with the Gallery JB+ app. See how, magically, now you can see all the way down to 1? :) Also, I tested this on some real life photos. Darker areas were much more visible... although black clipping was still there (the quality of very dark areas was not as good as on a LCD, for example). So... it is both hardware and software related. The least Sammy can do is fix the software side :) . This content has been quoted from rockymountain@’s thought.

Hi, Samsung Developers is a developer program, we are not developers of firmwares for Samsung devices, so we are really not able to give you such information. As I promised, we will let you know as soon as we get any update on this from developers of Galaxy Note firmware. Regards, Krzysztof Bobinski Samsung Developers |

Okay. So, what you said right here, Adam Panasiuk said here, over 3 months ago. Since then... STILL no update. That racks up to so much valuable information... you see?! In any case, I've just proven to you that the issue we are talking about here is not entirely hardware-related (might be, but in a small portion), as much as it is software-related; that being said, your developers could fix it... unless work is required on 1051832598 devices you are going to launch, which is, of course, HAPPENING. If you could just use your "part of Samsung Developers" credentials and actually contact the developers responsible for the N7000... you could get the information we're asking for. Of course, it's much easier to say you have been unable to get any response instead of actually trying. Heh... marketing... or whatever it's called :) . ----- Haaang on a second... Samsung Developers is a developer program... not the actual Samsung Developers (as in Samsung Developers)?! Woah... what? =} This content has been quoted from k.bobinski@’s thought. Hi, |

Hi again, The point is that the Samsung Developers program is providing support for programmers who experienced problems with using our SDK's or testing their apps on our devices. This is the reason why this website is called Samsung Developers - they are developing for Samsung devices, we are just helping. :) I understand that you are irritated with no news on this issue for such a long time, but please notice that your request is out of our scope, and we are not the end-user support channel. We are really trying to help you with getting any information on fixing this issue, but please keep in mind that we are not participating in firmware development. Regards, Krzysztof Bobinski Samsung Developers |

Ah, I see. But then, this should be called Samsung Developers Support :P . Anyway, thanks for your time. Guess all we can do now is wait for the update to be ready, so we can see with our own eyes whether the black clipping issue has been addressed or not. And with the SGS2 update being ready, I suspect the N7000 one isn't far now. This content has been quoted from k.bobinski@’s thought. Hi again, |

Hi, Yes, I have received the answer. This issue is not a matter of firmware or display, so it cannot be resolved in any further upgrade. Please remember that we are supporting developers, so in that kind of issues you should contact the end-user support, because they are out of our scope. Regards, Krzysztof Bobinski Samsung Developers |

Oh, I see. So the thing that almost every phone-related stuff website said back in October, that two developers have posted in the Samsung Developers forums that are working on the issue (on the kernel side)... Nice excuse. Samsung could've at least try to invest a bit more time into fixing the problem at the software level, so the black clipping effect would at least be softened, if not entirely repaired. Oh well... Thank you for the response, Krysztof. ----- Do you have (or can you get) any informations with respect to the JellyBean update for the Note? According to Samsung Ukraine, they will have it ready for the S2 (which is already seeding to some countries) and the Note (of which nothing is known) in March... Which is a bummer, since we were told it'd be ready by December =/ This content has been quoted from k.bobinski@’s thought. Hi, |

So basicly what you and Janice are saying is that there definitely is a problem with black clipping on N7000 which Samsung is well aware of and that this issue is not caused by firmware nor display. To sum all up, Samsung sold us a device with factory fault!? So should I get a refund? This content has been quoted from k.bobinski@’s thought. Hi, |

Hello, Here is an official statement regarding this issue: The display tuning to satisfy a variety consumers, is a trade off for an improved low light grid (in other words, noise). The display will be enhanced starting from the next model. Regards,Samsung Developers This content has been quoted from tinelavrencic@’s thought.
