Editing the Video

Overview

Captured moments from the Gear 360 can be easily stitched out and processed with the Gear 360 Action Director. With the user friendly UI, share and impress your peers instantly as they see through the lens of the Gear 360.

The Gear 360 ActionDirector has the ability to import and stitch together 360 VR videos and images with its various features. Learn to add titles, text effects, transitions, and background music to produce a 360 VR video.

Setting up the Environment

Prepare the following to get started with Samsung Gear 360.

  • Gear 360 ActionDirector

  • Gear 360 Sample Video

  • Background Images

  • Background Music

Step 1. Editing Videos with ActionDirector

Preparing the 360 ActionDirector

a) Launch the Gear 360 ActionDirector.

b) At the welcome page, select the 360 VR Video.

Adding a Title on the video

a) Add a Title in your project by clicking the Title tab.
Choose from the different templates on the tab then Select.

b) Drag your selected Title template to the storyboard

c) Double click on the template from the storyboard to edit or change the font style of the text then click OK.

Adding Effects on the Text

a) To add effect on the title by clicking on the Effect tab

b) Click on the effect to preview then OK to apply the effect

c) Add another text or background on the Title Designer window and apply a different effect on the newly added text

d) Click the delete icon to change the background or delete it

Adding Effect on your Video Clip

a) Click on the flower-like icon on the upper left side of the storyboard to add effect on the storyboard. The template must be selected so the button will appear on the panel

b) Click the effect and it will be automatically applied to the video.

c) Click the “No Effect” on the panel to remove any applied effects.

Adding Transitions to the Video

a) Import video or drag another template to the storyboard.
Using the example, just add another template from the Title tab.

b) Add a transition on two different videos or image by clicking on the Transitions tab.

c) Drag the transition effect in between the two videos to apply.

Adding Background Music to the Video

a) To add music, click the music icon on the lower right part of the screen.

b) Click the add icon then select music in the music library.

c) Set or trim the length of the music, control the volume, mix audio level between music and the video’s audio, loop the audio or add fade out effect on the music. Click OK to apply the changes.

d) Click the Delete icon to delete a music track.

a) Click an image or video clip on the storyboard

b) Select the clock icon on the upper left side of the storyboard

c) Set the time or the duration on how long will the clip will play then click OK.

Step 2. Producing the File

Click the blue “Produce” button at the bottom right to see the options for creating the final video output. Default setting is to save it to the local storage. Select the file format and profile name/quality, then provide a filename or a different output folder.
