Certification

This page will discuss the "Certification" process for App Management

FAQ

What is the difference between “App Failed” and “App Rejection”?

  • Failed: A defect has been found in the application’s functionality
  • Rejected: An error has been found in app description file.

If the app failed during testing, then a defect has been found.
Please click the app title under the “Applications” > “App Management” menu, and check the defects and resolve them as guided in “Defect resolution” menu.

  • If the app was rejected during testing, there is an error in the app Description File or failed in installing your app on TV.
Please click the app title under the “Applications” > “App Management” menu, and check the error.

How long does the certification process usually take?

On average, the entire launch process takes approximately 4 days.
However, this is an average of all apps submitted to Samsung Apps TV Seller Office, and it may vary depending on the number of rounds performed in the certification process.
Once the app is submitted, it is serviced after passing the Document Review, Testing, and Defect Review steps.

I want to add a model group during certification.

Unlike before, the updated Seller Office allows you to add a model group during the certification process and request certification.
To do so, select the app title under the “Applications” > “App Management” menu, select the model group additionally, and click the “Done” button.

I want to change the serviced countries (app information) in the Testing step.

You cannot change any app information, including serviced countries, during testing.
Please make any changes once testing is completed.

How do I update versions?

If the app failed during certification or services have been suspended, you can update the version of your app and request that it be certified again.
To do so, select the app title under the “Applications” > “App Management” menu, and click the “Version Up” button.
