Group Management

The Samsung Apps TV Seller Office provides group membership management features. This guide explains it.

Overview

You can manage your applications with colleagues by associating your account and colleague accounts into a single group. Same as seller membership types, there are two types of group membership in Samsung Apps TV Seller Office.

  • Public Group
  • Partner Group

The process to become a partner group is same with the process for a public seller to become a partner seller. For more details, refer to Partnership Request.

Memberships in Group

Once a group is created, the following group memberships are defined in the group as well.

  • Group Manager
    The account that creates a group becomes the group manager automatically. A group manager has the authority to manage the group. There can be only one group manager within a group.
  • Group Member
    The account that belongs to a group is called "Group Member". The group members have the capability to manage any applications within the group.

After group manager role is transferred to other member, the original group manager will become a group member.

Creating New Group

If you wish to manage your applications with your colleagues, you can do so by creating a group. After creating a group by clicking the “New Group” button under the “Membership” > “Group Management” menu, fill out the basic company information. The member who creates any group becomes the group manager of the group automatically.

Important

If you are already a member or the group manager of another group, you cannot create a new group. To create a new group, you must withdraw a membership within the group at first. For more details, refer to Leaving Group.

Note

"Updatable" fields at the below tables are editable when the group manager modifies group information.

Group Information

Most group information can be changed except for "Group Name".

Seller Information

As one of group information categories, seller information should be registered in a created group. The seller information registered here will be set as default seller information which is required during application registration.

Note

The seller information of group information versus the seller information of application

  • The seller information of group information is set as default seller information of application.
  • Even if the seller information of group information is changed, the registered application's seller information is not changed accordingly and vice versa.
  • When an application is served on TV, its seller information is displayed on Smart Hub Apps page.
  • If you want to change the seller information displayed on TV, modify the seller information of the application's seller information not the seller information of group information.

With the "Modify' button at "Membership" > "Group Management" menu, group information and seller information can be changed only for updatable fields.

Roles of Group Manager

Inviting Sellers into Group

Before you invite other sellers into your group,

  • you must create the group first
  • the sellers which you invite into your group must have signed up the Seller Office in advance

The member invitation process is as following.

Only group managers are permitted to invite other sellers in their own group.

At "Membership" > "Group Management" menu, click the "Member Invitation' button. You need to enter the seller's email address which has registered as the seller's log-in email ID. If the seller does not sign up the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office yet, the seller join will be completed after he sign up the Seller Office.

Note

The accounts that already belong to other group cannot be invited to another group. The sellers need to leave the group at first.

Approval of Join Request

When any seller requests to join a group, its group manager can see the join request at "Waiting Member List". Group manager can accept or reject the request at the list.

If group manager accepts the request by clicking "Confirm" button, a confirm notification email will be sent to the seller. The seller can make sure that he has become a member of the group.

If group manager rejects the request by clicking "Reject" button, a reject notification email will be sent to the seller.

Note

When any seller who already owns applications becomes a group member of any group, who will manage the applications?

The applications will be under control of the group as well as the seller. However, when other group member changes his group, the applications which he has registered and managed before change will be remained the previous group.

Withdrawing Members from Group

Group mangers have the permission to remove members from a group. To remove a member, select the member to remove in the group member list under “Membership” > “Group Management” menu, and click the “Withdrawal” button.

Managing Bank Account Information

Only group manager can manage bank account information which is used at Samsung Checkout DPI portal.

The registered bank account information is used at the following cases.

  • During app registration process
    The bank account information which is already registered by group manager will be sent to Samsung Checkout DPI. Samsung Checkout will approve depending on whether the bank information is registered. After that, you can access Samsung Checkout DPI to create products and view transaction lists.
  • During transaction in application
    Each time a transaction occurs in your application, Samsung Checkout DPI checks the bank information is registered with your application information.
  • During settlement process
    During settlement process, Samsung Checkout DPI checks the bank information is registered with your application information.

If click the "Bank Account Information" banner at the main page after log-in, the following popup window will be opened for registration.

After completing the first registration, you can edit your bank information later. Once you click the "Bank Account Information" button at home, the popup will let you modify the information.

Important

After register "Bank Account Information", you can select the "Samsung Checkout" feature when registering application.

Managing Device Information

If you register the following information of target TVs which you own and use when developing application, Samsung Content Manager is able to help you conveniently based on the information.

  • Model Name
  • DUID
  • Firmware Version
  • Smart Hub Version

You can take this information at Smart TV setting menu.

Furthermore this information is utilized when you register a question at "1:1 Q&A" menu. If you select one of the devices which you already registered at "Device Information" menu, your question can be proceeded with lower turn around queries.

Transferring Group Manager Role

Even the seller who first creates a group becomes the group manager of the group automatically, the group manager role can be transferred to another member within the same group.

By clicking "Transfer Manager Role" button under the “Membership” > *“Group Management” * menu, the role can be transferred to other members.

Roles of Group Member

Joining Existing Group

If you are not a member of any group currently, you can join an existing group. By clicking "Go to Join Group" button, you can find out the group which you want to join by the group manager email address. If you've got an invitation to join a group, you can join the group via the invitation link.

Note

Similar with creating a group, you cannot join other group if you are already a member or the group manager of another group. To join another group, you must leave the group at first. For more details, refer to Leaving Group.

Leaving Group

If you want to withdraw membership from a group, you can leave the group under the following conditions.

  • If you are the group manager,
    you should transfer the role to other group members and become a group member.
  • If you are the owner of any applications within the group,
    transfer the applications to the group manager.

To withdraw a membership from a group, go to “Membership” > “Group Management” menu and click the “Withdrawal” button beside your name.
