Problem:
Gear360 SDK Sample app throws IOException: socket closed after trying to connect.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Download BasicSampleApp
  2. Compile and install on Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F, Android version 7.0, latest updates installed)
  3. Start bluetooth pairing on the gear360 camera (SM-R210) and discovery on the sample app
  4. After finding the camera, click on it to connect
  5. Camera shows pairing code and app shows confirmation dialog
  6. Click ok to pair
Expected result:
Camera connects and PreviewActivity starts

Observed result:
App shows a Toast with text: "A device connect failed...java.io.IOException: socket closed"

Any suggestions on how to proceed to solve this problem would be highly appreciated.

Did you connect your Camera with Gear360 manager app?

Yes, the official Samsung app from Google play does work.

But the question is about the Gear360 SDK sample app, and the sample app won't connect. Not even after installing & connecting with the official app.

EDIT:
Seems that there was firmware update pending, with some fix to bluetooth security problem. Installing the update did the trick, thanks.
