The "Add to Samsung Wallet" feature allows you to digitalize content, such as tickets and gift cards, as wallet cards in the Samsung Wallet application. Galaxy users familiar with using Samsung Pay instead of physical payment cards can now easily and securely carry even more daily essentials with them digitally in Samsung Wallet.

Samsung Wallet integrates our mobile payment service (Samsung Pay) and biometric security solution (Samsung Pass) into a single application.

Finding Waldo: towards Efficient Exploration of NeRF Scene Spaces

The Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) model has taken the 3D computer vision field by storm in recent years. It has applications in areas, such as augmented reality, robotics, content creation and multimedia production. NeRFs are 3D representations that encode a 3D scene into the weights of a neural network and can be used for the same computer vision tasks that 2D images are used for.

This study introduces a scene exploration framework whose objective is to find input data for a NeRF model that can be used to render images adhering to user-provided criteria, and discusses different approaches to solving problems in scene exploration. Learn more at the Samsung Research blog.

Enabling Lightweight AI-based Positioning by Log Signature Transform of Wireless Channels

Accurate positioning in scenarios with predominant multi-path propagation and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) is challenging, especially in scenarios such as an indoor factory with dense clutter. Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) based approaches to positioning can potentially improve performance in NLOS-heavy scenarios, and have been approved for the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

When raw channel information is input directly into a model, problems of curse of dimensionality and huge model computational complexity arise. The Samsung Research Lab in Beijing presents how log signature transform based (SIG-based) processing for wireless channel data before feeding it into the AI/ML model can drastically reduce the number of input features and computational complexity of the model without compromising positioning accuracy.
