We briefly explain what we have done for not only IoT but also AI. First, TizenRT has been an IoT software platform for smart appliances since 2017, equipped with SmartThings with Calm Onboarding and lightweight software updates. SmartThings is the full-fledged IoT solution of Samsung. For easy and convenient device onboarding, we have introduced Calm Onboarding, consisting of background onboarding and assisted onboarding. After onboarding, the embedded software needs to be upgraded in order to meet our customers' new requirements as fast as possible. To this end, we have provided lightweight software update, with which only changed software modules can be updated. Second, our IoT software platform has been evolving to deliver AI experiences through 24/7 AI-based control and diagnosis. AI models also need to be upgraded frequently to enhance accuracy or reduce errors. With the help of the lightweight software update feature, each model can be updated. In addition, these AI models can be personalized for each customer via on-device training. Finally, by connecting AI functions/services through AI offloading, we can provide seamless AI experiences for all smart appliances.
