Samsung Mobile SDK Overview


There are a number of SDKs located at the top and bottom of the Android API.

The SDK types are:

  • Type 1 : Implemented with the Android API; available for all Samsung devices.
  • Type 2 : Implemented in the Android Framework; unavailable for some Samsung devices.

SDK Type 1 Accessory Offers the interfaces for connection and message exchange between devices using the Samsung Accessory Framework.
Accessory File TransferOffers file transfer between devices using and connected by the Samsung Accessory Protocol Framework.
ChordOffers an easy and fast way to share messages and contents between devices in the same subnet in real-time.
Image FilterOffers image processing functions such as image filtering and alpha value adjustment.
PenOffers functions to develop applications that use handwritten input. Fingers and various types of virtual pens can be used for input.
Remote SensorOffers functions to collect remote sensor data, such as a pedometer, user activity and wearing state from a wearable device.
Rich NotificationOffers templates to send interactive notification messages between mobile phones and wearable devices.
Visual ViewOffers various properties and animation effects in Android applications based on OpenGL® ES.
SDK Type 2GestureOffers user movement recognition features through the gesture sensor.
LookOffers specialized functions and widgets for the Android View System in Samsung phones.
Media ControlOffers features for sharing media such as movies, music, and photos between network devices.
MotionOffers device movement recognition features through the motion sensor.
MultiWindowOffers methods to simultaneously run multiple resizable applications.
PassOffers user fingerprint recognition features through the fingerprint sensor.
Professional AudioOffers methods to develop virtual music instrument applications and allows these applications to share audio between themselves.

Contents Description

Documents The Javadoc API reference and programming guide for instructions on how to install and develop applications with the SDK.
