Application Publication Process

This topic instoduces how to publish Web applications for Samsung devices link Smart TV and signage devides.  It lists the required files, and outlines how to register and update the application.

You do not need to set up or maintain a local server for application download with your cost.

Only If you submit your application package to the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office, you can download the application to your devices wherever they are located over the public internet.

Prerequisites

  • Seller Office membership
    You need to sign up with the Samsung Account at the Seller Office and make a partner membership.

  • Application package file and its metadata
    To submit an application to the Seller Office, the following files are required:

    Note

    Except for the application package, other files are less important to signage devices. Those files are used at TV Apps service.

Registering New Applications

  1. Go to the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office and log in to your account.
    The application publishing process is managed through the TV Seller Office.

  2. Select "Applications" and click the "+ Create App" button at the top of the right. Choose the type of application to register with "*.wgt" and fill out other information such as developer information, application information, and country for release.

  3. Upload the application source package file at "Applications > Application Package".
    When application package file is uploaded, the pre-test checks the application package to make sure that all required information is present, and also checks for common security issues and defects. Your application must pass the pre-test before you can proceed with registration.

  4. Enter distribute information
    Select "Request New Release" button at "Applications > Distribute". You should select device model groups where you want to distribute your application.

    Important

    The signage model groups to which your devices are belonging will not be shown at this step. Select one of Tizen 6.5 or later TV model groups for temporarily. The Seller Office administrator will change it into the proper model groups. Leave the message when submit your appliation.

  5. Enter the required information:

  6. Complete the pre-test.
    The pre-test checks the application package to make sure that all required information is present, and also checks for common security issues and defects. Your application must pass the pre-test before you can proceed with registration.

  7. Register the application.
    After passing the pre-test and completing the application registration, the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office tests your application:

    • If there are no defects, your application is published on Samsung App Store.
    • If your application has defects, you must correct them and submit a new version of your application. For more information, see Application Certification.

Publishing Updated Applications

To update your application version:

  1. Create an application package with the updated code.
  2. At the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office, go to "Applications > Management" and select the application you want to update.
  3. In the "App Information" tab, click "Version Up".
    The process is similar to publishing a new application. For more information, see Application Update.
