Samsung C-Lab at Viva Technology
2023, Europe's Largest Conference
for Startups
C-Lab, Samsung Electronics'
in-house startup initiative,
showcased "K-Innovation" at Viva
Technology ("VivaTech") 2023,
Europe's largest startup
conference.
This year's VivaTech was held June
14 to 17 at the Paris Expo Porte de
Versailles exhibition center in
Paris, France. In the Samsung
Electronics exhibition space within
the K-Startup Hall, C-Lab showcased
4 startups (CLIKA, NdotLight, Vsion,
and QuantumCat) fostered through the
C-Lab Outside program, and the
ongoing C-Lab Inside project
Relúmĭno, a visual aid solution for
people with low vision.
C-Lab's mission is to create
sustainable innovations and
contribute to the revitalization of
the domestic startup ecosystem by
establishing a virtuous cycle of
"discovery-implementation-commercialization"
of creative ideas. C-Lab Inside, an
in-house venture nurturing program,
was introduced in 2012 to spread a
creative organizational culture
within Samsung. For external
startups, the C-Lab Outside
acceleration program has been
running since 2018, invigorating the
domestic startup ecosystem and
creating high-quality jobs for young
people. The C-Lab programs have been
very successful, fostering 866
ventures and startups over the last

and noisy, an important step to
instructional video understanding is
locating clean key-steps in the
video. Recent efforts tackling this
problem often require detailed human
annotations. This article introduces
StepFormer, a novel self-supervised
approach that simultaneously
discovers and temporally localizes
procedure key-steps in long
untrimmed videos without needing
human annotation or step
descriptions.
