Search
Search boxes help users quickly find the content they want. All search boxes in One UI support auto-complete and predictive text features for improved usability and functionality, even when the user doesn't know the exact search term or makes a spelling mistake. For example, if a user searches for "Music," Finder shows everything with "music" in the name as well as apps that are related to music, like Spotify. Similarly, if they search for "Sound" in Settings, they'll see things like Volume and Do not disturb in addition to settings with the word "sound" in them.
Before a user even types a keyword into the search field, we offer a list of recently searched keywords and other suggestions. The suggestions depend on the app and context. Finder suggests recenlty searched apps and settings, Settings suggests useful tags, and My files suggests recently-used files. These suggestions help users find what they need without typing.
