Overview

Introduction

The Samsung Pay SDKs allow you to integrate push provisioning into your Android apps. The Samsung Pay SDKs offer 2 components:

  • Samsung Pay SDK for Android for implementing apps using the native Android OS
  • Samsung Pay SDK for Flutter for implementing apps using Google's Flutter framework

The Samsung Pay SDK for Android and Flutter both provide the same Samsung Pay features that allow cards to be provisioned to Samsung Wallet from an issuer app.

The following sections provide all the information you need to integrate the Samsung Pay SDK for Android or Flutter:

Implementation

To implement push provisioning in your app:

  1. Check that you have fulfilled the prerequisites for integrating the Samsung Pay SDK for Android or the Samsung Pay SDK for Flutter.
  2. Check that the customer device supports Samsung Pay.
  3. Implement the push provisioning functionality:
    a. Check whether the customer's card is already in Samsung Wallet.
    b. If not, display the button for the card provisioning option.
    c. If the customer selects to enroll their card, add the card to Samsung Wallet.

Architecture

The following diagram shows a high-level architecture of the general interactions between Samsung Pay and your app.

Architecture

The key components involved are:

  • Partner app: Issuer app for provisioning cards to Samsung Wallet
  • Samsung Pay SDK: Samsung Pay SDK for Android or Flutter, integrated into the partner app for direct communication with Samsung Pay
  • Samsung Pay: Samsung Pay service with which the SDK communicates
  • Financial network: Payment gateways, acquirers, card associations, and issuers that participate in transaction processing under agreement with the merchant
