Samsung signage devices provide rich capabilities for video playback, using the available audio and video decoders. This topic describes the media formats supported by Samsung signage displays, and the limitations on their support.
Large Format Display (LFD)
Samsung's large-format digital displays provide professional-grade image quality with superior contrast ratio and best-in-industry brightness and color uniformity
Media with errors cannot be played with some codecs.
Media cannot be played if the file is corrupted or the information in the container is wrong.
Media with higher bit or frame rate than specifications can cause video or audio playback to stall.
Seek (jump) function is not supported if the index table is corrupted.
Network streaming content playback can be choppy, depending on network status.
Some USB and digital camera devices can be incompatible with the player.
Videos playing on the panel can be shown at lower frame rates than the original sources.

H.264 FHD: Level 4.2 supported (FMO/ASO/RS not supported).
H.264 UHD: Level 5.1 supported, seamless resolution change supported up to 3840x2160.
HEVC FHD: Level 4.1 supported.
HEVC UHD: Level 5.2 supported, seamless resolution change supported with Level 5.1 up to 3840x2160.
HEVC: Supported only for MKV/MP4/TS containers.
VC-1 AP L4: Not supported.
GMC 2 and higher: Not supported.
Audio Decoder Limitations
WMA 1: Not supported.
WMA 9 Pro: Lossless and Voice not supported.
WMA 10 Pro: 5.1 channel supported.
QCELP and AMR NB/WB: Not supported.
MPEG-H: Only supported on target devices for South Korea.
Vorbis: 5.1 channel supported.
DD+: 5.1 channel supported.
Sampling rates 8, 11.025, 12, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, and 48 kHz supported, depending on codec.
ImportantThe DTS Audio codec is not supported on 2023 devices. For smooth playback, if a DTS Audio track is part of your manifest, make sure other audio tracks can be selected.
The WMV, VC-1, and WMA codecs will no longer be supported on 2025 and later device models.
