Changing Application Status

This guide explains how to change the status of a registered TV application.

Application Status

The registration and service status of an application is listed as Under Registration, Ready, For Sale, Suspended, Terminated, etc., and is displayed in your 'Applications' list.

Under Registration

The application is being registered and has not been distributed yet.
At this stage, you can freely change all application information, and you can also delete the application.

Ready

The application service has been requested to be released and the service has not yet started.

Samsung conducts a review and verification test for the application that has been requested to be released, and you are notified of the result.

While the certification and verification processes are in progress, major application information such as service country, service category, application icon, and application title cannot be changed. They can be changed after the process is complete.

You cannot submit different versions of the application to a model group that is undergoing certification/verification processes, but you can request additional releases to other model groups that are not undergoing the processes.

For more information, see the Requesting New Release guide.

For Sale

The application has passed Samsung's certification and verification processes, and has been successfully released on Samsung Smart TV.

You can expand and distribute the application version in service to new TV model groups, and distribute upgraded versions to any model groups served by the application.

For more information, see the Requesting New Release guide.

Suspended and Terminated

The application service has been stopped in all TV model groups.

'Suspended' is a state in which the application service is paused and the application is not discoverable on the TV App Store, but users who have already installed it are still able to use it.

You can suspend and resume the service at any time when necessary.

For more information, refer to the To Suspend Application Services and To Restore Suspended Application Services sections.

'Terminated' means that the application service is completely shut down. Not only is the application not discoverable on the TV App Store, but it is also unavailable to users who have installed it.

If you request the termination of an application in service, Samsung may review the request and either accept or reject it.

For more information, refer to the To Terminate Application Services section.

Model Group Status

QA and service status by model group after application launch request is classified into Submitting, Testing, Rejected, Fail, Waiting Launch, Launched, Dropped, Suspended, Terminated, and so on, and displayed in the "Applications > Distribute > App Service" list.

Submitted and Testing

The model group requested for application release is in the 'Submitted' status and Samsung will begin reviewing the application. When the basic review is completed and the verification test in the model group starts, the application is in the 'Testing' status.

When the certification and verification processes are ongoing, major application information such as service country, service category, application icon, and application title cannot be changed. Once the process is stopped or completed, they can once again be changed.

To stop the certification and verification processes, refer to the To Cancel Release Request guide.

Other application versions cannot be submitted to a model group that is in the processes of certification and verification, but additional release requests can be made to other model groups that are not currently being certified or verified.

Rejected and Fail

If a problem is found in the basic review stage, the verification test for the model group is rejected, and the model group status for the application version is displayed as 'Rejected'.

An application may be rejected in the following cases:

  • Application information problem
  • Application description document file issue
  • Application fails to run
  • Failure in setting up the application test environment
  • Not properly addressing previously reported defects

If an application defect is found in the verification test stage for a model group and it is determined that verification has failed, the model group status for the application version is displayed as 'Fail'.

These results will be shared with you, the seller, by email, so check the reported results, fix the problem, and resubmit the application.

Refer to the Resolving Defects guide to help address the reported issues.

Waiting Launch or Launched

If an application has passed the validation test and is in a state of preparation for release, it is listed as 'Waiting Launch'. When the application is successfully released on TV, it is changed to the 'Launched' status.

Dropped

The application release request has been canceled.

You can request to re-release the application with an upgraded or unreleased application version.

Suspended and Terminated

Application service is stopped in all TV model groups.

In the 'Suspended' state, the application service is paused and the application is not discoverable on the TV App Store, but users who have already installed it can still use it.

You can suspend and resume the service at any time when necessary.

For more information, refer to the To Suspend Application Services and To Restore Suspended Application Services sections.

In the 'Terminated' status, the application service is permanently discontinued and in addition to the application not being discoverable on the TV, users who have previously installed it are no longer able to use it.

If you request the termination of an application in service, Samsung may review the request and accept or reject it.

For more information, refer to the To Terminate Application Services section.

To Suspend Application Services

You can pause an application service on Samsung Smart TV.

Application service is stopped in all TV model groups simultaneously - it cannot be selectively stopped only in specific model groups.

Service suspension is applied immediately without a separate approval process by Samsung and the application becomes no longer discoverable on the TV App Store. Users who have already installed the application are still able to use it.

You can suspend and resume the service at any time when necessary.

If you click the "Suspend" button in the "Applications > Distribute > App Service" list, a pop-up for suspend processing is displayed.

When you click the "Done" button after checking the instructions and entering the reason for suspension, the application service is stopped immediately and the status of all versions/model groups is changed to 'Suspended'.

To Restore Suspended Application Services

Suspended application services can be resumed. Restoration of service takes effect immediately without requiring a separate approval process by Samsung.

If you click the "Restore from Suspend" button in the "Applications > Distribute > App Service" list, a pop-up for suspend processing is displayed.

When you click "Done" after entering the reason, the service is resumed immediately and the status of all versions/model groups is restored to their previous state.

To Terminate Application Services

You can permanently terminate an application service on Samsung Smart TV.

Application service can only be terminated in all TV model groups simultaneously - it cannot be selectively terminated only in specific model groups.

When the application service is terminated, in addition to the application not being discoverable on the TV, users who have previously installed it are no longer able to use it.

If you request the permanent termination of an application in service, Samsung may review the request and accept or reject it.

If you click the "Request Terminate" button in the list of "Applications > Distribute > App Service", a pop-up for requesting service termination is provided.

After checking the instructions and entering the reason for termination, click the "Done" button to send the request to Samsung.

Afterwards, if Samsung approves and terminates the service, the status of all versions/model groups is changed to 'Terminated'.

It takes 3 to 5 business days to approve and apply a request, and if Samsung rejects the request for service termination, you, the seller, will be notified of the reason by email.
