There are three storage types for Gear 2. Each has different characteristics that the developer can use. The File API can manage audio and video files. The Indexed Database is able to store data based objects. Finally the Web Storage saves structured data. Database storage has also local and session storage options. Local storage is shared within the application, while session storage is issued per session only. The local storage is limited to 5MB per application, while there is no limit for the session storage.
