For Linux, check the KVM site to make sure that your CPU supports either Intel® VT-x or AMD-V™.
Your computer must support OpenGL® ES acceleration. You need:
Graphics card driver that supports OpenGL® 1.4 installed on the host machine
The latest vendor-provided graphics card driver supporting OpenGL® ES acceleration
NoteThe emulator supports only OpenGL® ES 1.1 and 2.0, and EGL™ 1.4.
On Ubuntu 14.04/16.04, the Intel driver version must be 8.0.1 or higher.
If the host machine is using the NVIDIA® Optimus® technology, the emulator works with the on-board graphics card. To prevent this, either disable the Optimus® technology, or set the emulator to run with the external NVIDIA graphics card.
Note
The TV emulator runs as a virtual machine, so it cannot be used within the following virtualization environments:
Remote Desktop
Virtual Box
VMWare
Parallels (macOS)
Using Boot Camp does not affect the emulator.
