How Prices Are Calculated When a Subscription Is Changed

When a subscription is changed, the price of the subscription also changes. For example, the price may change from $8.99/month to $13.99/month.

The price of the subscription is calculated using the daily price, a percentage of the overall subscription price. The difference between the daily price of the current subscription and the daily price of the selected subscription determines if the change is an upgrade or downgrade. If the daily price of the selected subscription is higher than the daily price of the current subscription, the change is considered an upgrade. If the daily price of the selected subscription is lower than the daily price of the current subscription, the change is considered a downgrade. If the daily price of the selected subscription is the same as the daily price of the current subscription, the change is considered an upgrade.

When your customer changes their subscription, you must determine how to apply the changes in price and subscription availability by setting a proration mode.
