Fake Provider Integration Guide

This guide describes how to test your app using a fake provider to simulate U.S. App Store Accountability Act (ASAA) age signal responses.

FakeAccountabliltyActProvider is a test-only ContentProvider that implements the same interface as the real StoreAccountabilityActProvider. The real provider gets its response from Galaxy Store's internal state (account, minor status, network), which makes it hard to test. The fake provider returns the values passed by the app directly in the response. This lets you verify app behavior across various user states without setting up a real account or minor status.

This guide is used with the getAgeSignalResult method. Sellers can verify the following without setting up a test environment:

  • App behavior when the user is a verified adult (VERIFIED)
  • App behavior when the user is a supervised minor (SUPERVISED family of states)
  • Branching based on age range (ageLower/ageUpper), approval date, and installID

The fake provider follows the same interface and response format as the real provider. Therefore, code you test with the provided examples can be switched to the real provider without modification.
